This is the acronym for the Throston Primary Parent Teacher Association. The PTA deals with school and community matters. The PTA are proving to be invaluable, by raising funds, organising Fun
Days/Christmas events/coffee mornings, discos, managing school recycling projects and by improving
parental communication with the school. If you would like to join the friendly PTA please contact the Chair (Sarah Allison) via the school. Please note you can email the PTA on: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also hold a termly disco. These are organised by teaching staff. Details are shown below:
GUIDANCE FROM THE DISCO ORGANISATION TEAM
Nursery parents are more than welcome to attend with their children, but if possible, it would be very helpful if pushchairs and prams were not brought into school, to ease congestion and ensure safer exit routes in case of an emergency. Reception parents are asked not to attend with their children*. Reception staff feel parents are no longer required as children are able to enjoy a disco independently. Do not panic, all the familiar Foundation Stage staff will be on hand to help children, if required.
*Please note when a child first joins Reception, parents and carers will be encouraged to attend their child’s first disco (held during the autumn term).
Entrance to the school disco is via the main school entrance and exit is via the Breakfast and After School Entrance.
The cost is £2.00 to be paid on the night. The price includes a drink and snack.
Times: Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) & Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2) - 3.45pm to 5.15pm. Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6) - 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
