Update: Monday 15th November 2021
A HUGE thank you to everyone for wearing odd socks today to launch our anti-bullying week, and to show that we are all unique and we should celebrate our differences.
Did you know the word 'phoenix', as shown on our school logo, also means a person or thing regarded as uniquely remarkable in some respect (just like every member of #TeamThroston).
The theme this year is 'one kind word'. Today in assembly I set our children the challenge to be like a meerkat and watch out for one another. I also asked them to say kind words and compliments to their peers and family. The idea being kindness fuels kindness. We want to start a chain reaction of positivity.
The annual anti-bullying song this year is very catchy, it can be viewed at: https://throston-primary-school.primarysite.media/media/odd-socks-for-anti-bullying-week
Please note due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in some year groups, we reverted to Zoom for assembly today.
