In Reception they will further explore length, weight and capacity, comparing and estimating amounts. They will continue and create repeating patterns. In Reception they will name and describe shapes and rotate or manipulate them to create pictures or build with them.

Number

 In Reception they will count beyond 10 and count objects or actions. They will compare numbers and be able to recognise the 1 more than/ 1 less than relationship between consecutive numbers. They will learn to mentally recall number bonds, including subtraction facts, to 5 and then some to 10.

Numerical Patterns

 In Reception we will look at numerical patterns when counting. We will explore odd and even numbers, doubles and how to share numbers equally.
